Food

I have been on a cooking frenzy as of late
I really do enjoy cooking.
Luckily my mom was a pretty good cook to teach me
and also luckily Bobby is pretty open minded when it comes to food.
He will eat anything I make for him.
He may not always enjoy it (tuna casserole)
But he always eats it which I am grateful for

I normally feel like I dont have time to cook dinner
but in reality, cooking doesnt take that long
and it is so much cheaper
and so much healthier

We have a ton of left overs though.
I used to love left overs
but a lot of the time when I cook the meal I am not even hungry for it anyways

There is something about cooking for yourself that is unappetizing
I am not sure why

Last week I made a one pot tomato basil pasta (Google the recipe [Martha Stewart], it is one of the cleanest meals I feel like I have ever eaten. Also it is beautiful)
I also made this green curry soup which was very good

And then tonight I made a potato soup from scratch

We have been trying to buy more organic and healthier groceries.
It kind of kills me inside to pay $5 for milk and way more like this for things that could be so much cheaper
but it is way better
and its not that much more really
also our health will benefit from it

also, as I was peeling potatoes this morning
I was thinking about how good my mom is at peeling potatoes with a knife
that is hard work.

and on a side note
I went to UCTE this last week
it was fabulous as always
I am getting more and more excited to teach

also I am trying to use Twitter more

And I need to come back to loving reading and writing

I have been listening to a lot of audio books
I just need to write more

heres to this blog and writing more

You know those times when you just feel pretty happy and excited?
Yeah thats me about now.

Let's start with the weekend.
I was so productive yet had a great time.

First off.
I finished all my homework that I had set the goal to finish.
This rarely happens.
(Including my huge assignment!):

I wasn't sure if I would be able to finish by Tuesday but tada!

Bobby and I also had a nice weekend
We went out to dinner
Went and saw a movie
Did some clothes shopping for him.

It was just all around enjoyable!

And then tonight I tried out a new recipe that was super easy
(One pot tomato basil pasta)
It was pretty good
Bobby liked it which was a plus

I have an issue with cooking things and enjoying them
Like if I cook it, it is normally meh

So here's to the good times, tonight is mighty special

2012

Happy new year! 2012 brought many great memories and adventures! I got a scooter; we sold Bobby's car; we went to Moab, Durango twice, Montana, Denver, and California; we moved houses; I was put in yw's; I got a new job; I cut off 10" of hair; bobby was promoted at work; we both got raises; my family visited several times; we ate a lot of good food; I cooked and baked a lot; we got a new couch; we celebrated our first anniversary; Bobby got a motorcycle; we got a new kitty; I became English Society president; we went to four concerts in two weeks and met Slug; I went to UCTE conference and met Taylor Mali; I went to Yellowstone; I saw the Nutcracker; we saw several movies; I saw several plays; I finished two semesters of college; I read many books and wrote many papers; I went to the zoo twice; I finished many crafts; and I spent time with great people. Whew and that's not even a comprehensive list! To 2013! May it be even greater!

well tomorrow i teach 

my first for real english lesson

i hope it will be good

i am more nervous for my lesson friday 

but i am sure itll all go over well

i am really so excited to have 

my own classroom

and be a teacher

it is just something i have a true passion about 

I think bobby and i have been 

watching too much Breaking Bad

the other night i had a dream 

that i worked for gus 

i dont remember if i was making meth

but i do know that he made me some offer

working nights for $65 an hour

and i turned it down so that 

i would have the energy

to do my mini student teaching 

that i am doing right now 

haha strange huh

on the zune topic from the other day 

i broke my screen on my zune

my zune i have had since my hs sophomore year

i am so sad

it is just falling apart 

and now i have no idea what i am going to do

because i will not conform to apple 

you can see bobby's impact on me haha

speaking of bobby

he is so sweet

he got me this ^ orchid one day

that i was feeling sad

and!

tonight he took me out for tacos 

and ice cream!

and he asked to buy me crackle nail polish

isnt he the best

work had been so crazy

monday was the add drop deadline

and now we can schedule for the rest of the semester

so i seriously have had no free time 

and yesterday i left with 

5 emails still in the inbox

but one of my biggest pet peeve

which i dont understand...

it will be really busy 

and we will all be on the phone

so obviously we cant answer

other incoming calls

but people will call our office

and get the voivemail

cal back 5 more times

then leave a voicemail

and then keep calling non stop until 

someone finally answers their call

like seriously?

i sometimes wonder if they dont realize

that i can see how many times they have called

its a little invention called

caller id.... connected to your inbox

and do they think i wont call them back?

and then if they end up talking 

to someone else in the office 

and i dont know 

so i will return their voicemail

they get all mad for bothering them

people. 

we are weird......

no wonder we are hated

just life.

Well life has been pretttyyy crazy
just busy
and exhausting
thats why i havent blogged more

today we bought eggs for the very first time ever.
the both of us.
we just arent big egg eaters so oh well i guess

in other new
last weekend with my mom and sister was very nice
we shopped our hearts out
and went to park city
passing by this ^ water fall on the way there
kinda pretty

i wish i had more exciting things to say

ive been wanting to buy a new zune for years now
but they kinda dont make them anymore
it is sad
there are rumors that they will be releasing one more though
so we will see

bobby and i have been together for three years!
its so crazy!
and we both completely forgot
its like once you get married you just forget about everything else
best three years ever :)

teaching is going well
i really love it
i cant wait until i am done with school
and can be a real teacher
that is if i can get a job

i guess the bakery has fought to keep me
lets hope someone else will

well i will get back to cooking
yes i cooked tonight!!

cultural pizza

Pizza night got moved to Saturday this week

and i made pizza at home

thanks to bobbys mom donna/ his dad

we had mexican pizza!

not quite like taco bell

but still good

just take a pizza crust

layer with refried beans

green chiles

cheese

other mexican toppings

bake for suggested time

top with salsa and sour cream

delicious. 

18 for 6.

i was so worried it would be packed

 but it wasnt

and the owner was there greeting everyone 

with a free root beer shake

yep look at all those tacos

such a good deal!

this is his 'can i eat yet?' face

haha it was very delicious

and no we did not eat them all

at least not at once

we had tacos for lunch for the next two days

mmmm del taco

we are junkies. 

hate the game not the playa.

sweet home colorado.

our trip to colorado was well needed

it was way too short

mainly because there is so much to do

and so many people to see

some highlights:

i missed these weenies.

you cant talk to a dog on the phone 

so i end up missing them so much

one of the best thing about durango 

is the mexican food

it is actually spicy!

and authentic tamales :)

sooo good

i ate them all

2 every day for breakfast :]

another delicious food.

texas tacos. 

smoked pork and cheesy potatoes and jalapenos

and then you slather it in their bbq sauce

mmmmm

i am hungry just looking at that picture

i love that colorado actually had weather

it clouds up so nice every night

even if it doesnt rain

at least it cools off compared to utah

my mom has always had the coolest jobs

ie: she works at THE chocolate factory 

in the offices :)

and gets free chocolate 

yummy

for our wedding bobby and i got a gift certificate to ken and sues

aka classy restaurante. 

i had prime rib and bobby had some halibut

he was very excited for his apple tart

i had some yummy cheesecake 

and apple lover had the apple good ness

it was all so good

and we were so stuffed in the end 

yummy

gracias fuscoes. 

we were able to go tubing twice!

its so much fun

you just get a tube and float down the river

i do have to add that the animas has some world class rapids

all the more fun 

but my mom went with bobby and i the first time 

and my forever friend chelsea

she is the cutest thing ever

and we have been friends since we were 7

literally.

so it was good to see her and hang out

the second time we went with some friends from idaho

and my sister

and a friend from high school garrett

bobby got so sunburned

it was so sad

and he still is 

hes just a huge peely peel now

one thing we used to always do when we were kids

was go to the bar d chuckwagon

bobby wasnt very excited though

isnt colorado just so pretty

i was kinda disappointed in it all though

maybe things are just better when youre a kid

but the shops seemed to have nothing in them

and it just seemed lame

me and selby waiting for dinner

i think she actually likes me now

mom and rasp-barry being silly waiting

the food was delicious

and the show was fun

i wish they wouldve done more funny songs though 

there are no more old guys that do the show any more

the last old guy who owns it came out for one song

he played his toilet seat instrument haha 

so that was sad that everyone is too old

you see he loved it

but i though it was okay

i was glad we were able to go

but idk if i will want to go again

maybe i am just old and boring

we got to walk down town and hit all my favorite shops

silk sparrow, animas trading, the home store

and i got a new water bottle!

and mom is gonna make me a purse like this 

after she makes me the pillows we got stuff for 

and the purse we got fabric for too :)

we were also able to go see bobbys grandma

on the way by her we stopped at one of our favorite places in durango

bread. a yummy bakery

bobby likes the baguettes 

he is funny

i love the sew your oats cookies

its their everything cookie

but i didnt get to eat mine :(

and i forgot it at home

we finally had to head home

it was so sad

colorado is just so pretty compared to the desert 

this is sleeping ute mountain in cortez

just a fun landmark

and historical cultural too

i drew in the ute for those who lack imagination

but the utes believe he will wake up 

and help them

i was just reading about all the ute legends and they are pretty cool i must say

at one point there was this grasshopper that got stuck on the window

he just road there for a long time until we got going 50 mph

i guess grasshopper paws are only rated for that much wind

we had some car problems coming back too

it was so stressful because i have never had car problems

and my car is rather new too

it was just so hot or something that our car was vapor locking

but we finally made it home

this sight of gross smog greeted us

at least there was a pretty sunset

it was a good trip

but colorado is still better than uterrrr

sams dizzle

bobby is a pizza junkie

so of course he was down to go to sams club 

and get my mom stuff

he also found a new bed
he said it was better than the one we have 

no room for me though

and the dude at sams club wasnt very happy

ebelskiver

bobby is a pancake fanatic

anyone who knows him knows that

me on the other hand 

not so much

but we got this fun pan that is changing my mind about pancakes though

the fancy name for it is ebelskivers

but as seen on tv and bobby likes to refer to it as pancake puffs

it really is so fun

and i like it alot

and even better bobby gets his pancake fix

but so i cant sleep in anymore thanks to the bakery 

so guess what! i wasnt lazy 

and cooked!

i dont know why i havent wanted to cook for the last week

because i have wanted to for the last two months

actually i do know why i havent cooked

eeeeee so excited

but i got up and made bobby pancakes

he was delighted

but if you like pancakes

you should get one of these pans

you can buy a fancy one for like 40

or the as seen on tv for 20

and on a side not today me and bobby went on a walk up to the park

we passed the senior citizen center

and on the billboard it said

"senior swim party"

......what in the world

that just sounds bad

and gross

and bad

pizza pizza pizza

so i promise i wasnt lazy again

okay maybe a little bit 

maybe a lot

but we really have deemed friday night pizza night

you see bobby would eat pizza for every meal 

so its easy and he loves it

we went to pizza pie cafe because they were having a facebook special

the place is a buffet of every kind of pizza, pasta and salad bar 

they have dessert pizza too

it really is sooo good

and the pizza isnt bad at all 

and the best thing was that we got the fb special and $4 coupon 

so it only cost us $7 instead of 14!

and it was delicious

and bobby was happy

win win

oh and i didnt have to cook ha

so i finally cooked.

well kinda

i grew up eating nachos like this

and me and bobby are mexican food junkies

so we have nachos for dinner a couple of times now

because i am lazy and they delicious

so guess which nachos are whose haha

yep the ones that were careful put together are mine

and then one that are just melted with cheese and beans and stuff mixed together are his

he sure is cute

j dawgggsss

so i havent felt like cooking at all this week

thus we had pizza on friday

applebees saturday

del taco sunday

cooked monday but it sucked and bobby didnt like it

burger supreme last night

and so tonight i decided that j dawgs sounded much better than what i planned

conviently enough

j dawgs is right on the way home

nom nom nom

its so good

but only the real deal there 

knock off j dawgs isnt very good

neither is just the sauce with lame dawgs

and eating there makes my mom so jealous

i just watched a video about jdawgs 

it was pretty heart warming

so good new

bobby got a new job paying rather well

yayayayayay!!!

and its raining 

and thundering so loud outside

i think ive jumped from surprise 

like three time at least because the thunder is so loud

but yay for actual moisture in this desert

the last few times it has rained 

it only does for like a couple minutes

or itll rain really hard more north 

and by the time it gets to our house

it stops

we get to go home to colorado next week

I have a bad problem.
i love lemon water
places that have tons of lemons just there for you to use
are the best

ie. burger supreme where we had dinner
and shakes mmmm

i think its not really that lemony
but bobby disagrees
and so does everyone else

maybe i am a freak
but i do tell you that one of my dearest best friends growing up loved lemon water too
and bobbys old boss does too

so ha all you haters
hate the game not the playa

in all reality
i should probably kick the habit
if i want to have teeth for the rest of my life

but for realz
teeth are for losers.

mcbitchen.

as horrible as it is, bobby and i are suckers for fast food

mainly panda express and del taco

but we have a new favorite thing we like to eat

let me warn you with the same words bobby told me.

"this food is not for the faint of heart dear. 

this is professional stoner food."

i introduce you to the "mcbitchen"

yup. you order one mcdouble with mac sauce and one hot and spicy. (only $2!)

you then take apart the mcdouble and place the spicy patty in between the mcdoubles

(i guess to be a true stoner mcbitchen you are supposed to put the whole mcspicy bun and all in there)

yes. it is artery clogging.

yet it is very very delicious.

just trust me.
