Concerts.

We went to four concerts
in three weeks.
I know. Holy cow.
Let me recap:

Atmosphere

Slug is the coolest guy.
Of course we arrived early
to wait in line and he came out
to just say hi and chill with his fans.

I was glad because they played a lot of old music
which is what I love most.
And Slug was such a funny guy.
Such a performer.

We were up front against the gate.
At one point of course the crowd is wild
and people are moshing
and getting pulled from the crowd
when Slug stops to ask "why are you guys beating each other up?"
It was great.

And then of course everyone is singing along
when he stops again
during Shoes you've got issues
"you know, FIRST
its not cool that you're singing
my words
but then that you're yelling them at me too!"

and then he freestyle raps.
Holy. Amazing.
and says something
about the saints of Utah
and felt soo bad and low about it.
Even though he had been making
Mormon  pussy jokes all night.

It was great.
Great show.
Great humor.
The guy is hilarious and genius.

I love Atmosphere before
just on album

but now I have a whole
new appreciation and love
for the group

And Carnage the Executioner
was so amazing.
He is so talented.

Brand New

I have to admit
 I haven't listened to
 a lot of brand new...
this concert was for Bobby

but still great
loved seeing the songs
I am familiar with and enjoy.

It was at the U
and huge crowd
at their annual red festival.

It was so amazing to see
all of these college students
who grew up listening to them
sing along and reminisce.

At several points
Jesse the lead singer
would just stop
because the crowd was so over powering
and singing the song.

It was really cool to see.

Second thing.
At the end the band went off stage
and everyone thought was return for an encore
as is typical and expected

and then Jesse just came on stage
and was like well thanks for having us
we can't play anymore
we'll be back and then left.

Everyone was shocked
and like didn't know how to act
or what happened.

I guess they just went over scheduled time
but it was still the weirdest ending
ever.

Circa Survive

we all were really excited to see Circa Survive
well kinda
because they have a new CD out
that none of us have particularly listened
to the new cd
and I really like On Letting Go

its funny because the opening band
had this guy with really long hair
that reminded me of my long hair
and then i got all reminiscent
of when i had long hair and that
made me want to grow my hair out haha

Anthony Green was really funny
he kept telling everyone to just listen to the music
and then he did a stage jump into the crowd of fists
so of course he came out with a huge black eye
then a couple of days ago
poor guy had to cancel some shows cause he magically got cracked ribs

when we first got to the venue
there were these huge funnel things on
which i knew they had to be blowing confetti or something out of them
and sure enough!
they even threw out these huge balloons filled with confetti
it was great
even the back drop
was beautiful

Deftones

This was the third time
we have seen Deftones

Scars on Broadway opened
Holy. Cow.
the lead singer is the guitarist from System of a Down
It was all just really
politically charged
and crazy.
everyone was going crazy
the guy playing the piano was just
rocking out and whippin his hair back and forth
it was just interesting
and the drummer gave us his drum stick
complete with his hair stuck in the cracks

Deftones was great as always
Sergio is just such a cool guy
high fiving and rocking out

We were smashed against the gate
the entire time
I done know why the crowd was so crazy and wild
maybe it was the start with Scars on Broadway
but it was almost too back
because it almost made it un enjoyable

Chino oh Chino
he held my hand and sang to me
twice
he also stood in the crowd right by us
so i held his leg for support haha

they played a song to Chi like always
it is always so sad and so touching

but they were super funny too
people were throwing bras and panties on stage
and then Chino "traded" the bra for one of Sergio's basses to the drummer
and then he played a song with the bass on his back
the entire song

it was pretty good

and then Sergio gave us his pick.
second show where he gives it to me
awesome!

and then i scouered the floor
looking for a hard ticket
because ours were will call

ticket found! to add to our ticket wall!

and holy cow
i have never heard so much bad singing
people just screaming the lyrics
as loud as they could.

ahh good times.
i love live music
i wish concerts werent so expensive
and i wish we lived closer to slc
